Produktbeschreibung
Marcin Wiatr contributes to the reconstruction, but also to the objectification and advancement of the Polish educational discourse on the reconditioning and adoption of German cultural heritage ongoing since 1989. A central topic of the project is "Upper Silesia" - primarily as the subject of an investigation into the political memory, and secondarily as a show-place for the virulent educational policy trends that were symbolically incorporated into the first-ever history book on regional studies of Upper Silesia. The study aims to provide a reliable basis for the education policy debates in Poland like Germany, but also to understand German cultural heritage as a Europeanisation moment in the history of Upper Silesia. Further, the study proposes ways for successfully classroom teaching of Upper Silesia as a place of remembrance shaped by multiculturalism.
