Autorenporträt
William Nicholson wurde am 12. Januar 1948 geboren. Er besuchte die Klosterschule Downside bei Bath. Am Christ's-College, Cambridge, nahm er das Studium der englischen Literatur auf, das er mit Auszeichnung abschloss.

Nicholson begann danach Romane für Erwachsene zu schreiben, die aber unveröffentlicht blieben. Einen Namen machte er sich als Produzent, Regisseur und Autor von über 50 Dokumentarfilmen beim englischen Fernsehsender BBC in den 70er und 80er Jahren. Gleichzeitig schrieb er für Fernsehen, Film und Theater.
