The albums discography of American musician Michael Jackson consists of ten studio albums, and a greater number of remix albums, greatest hits albums, box sets and live albums. The albums were released during his lifetime as well as after his death. Jackson made his debut as a performer in 1964 as a member of the musical group The Jackson Brothers (later renamed The Jackson 5). Jackson and his group signed a recording contract with Motown in 1968. After several appearances with the group, Jackson released his debut solo material with Motown in 1972, titled Got to Be There and Ben. Both albums performed well on the charts, peaking at positions fourteen and five on the Billboard 200, respectively. However, his next studio albums, Music & Me (1973) and Forever, Michael (1975), were commercial failures. Music & Me reached only as high as ninety-two on the Billboard 200, while Forever Michael failed to even make the top one-hundred.
