Autorenporträt
Frenchy and the Punk is a New York-based Folk Punk Cabaret Duo. This 50-page book covers the years 2005 to 2015 with lyrics to the CDs Bonjour Batfrog, Cartwheels, Elephant Uproar, Hey Hey Cabaret and Happy Madness as well as live show and behind-the-scenes photos. A great accompaniment to the CDs themselves or for those who have downloaded their music and would like the lyrics, linear notes and artwork. Frenchy and the Punk have been touring across the U.S. and in Europe since 2005. This powerhouse duo is made up of Frenchy, Samantha Stephenson, a French-born-Brit singer, percussionist and lyricist and the Punk, Scott Helland (veteran of the American Hardcore Punk scene of the 80s), the group's guitarist and songwriter. They were named one of the top 25 duos by Yahoo Music Blog and their music has been used in a multitude of TV programs. They are regular featured performers at alternative music festivals and are one of the most visible bands in the Steampunk and Faerie Festival scenes today. Their live shows are known for their high energy, life affirming and unique style. Helland has a signature live guitar looping technique that, coupled with Stephenson's rich vocals and percussion, make it hard to imagine all that sound comes from just two people.
