Zhenming Shi works at the Department of Geotechnical Engineering, TongjiUniversity, China. Bin Ye works at the Department of Geotechnical Engineering, Tongji University, China.

Dr. Yu Huang, male, born in 1973, is a professor and the Deputy Head of the Department of Geotechnical Engineering at Tongji University in Shanghai, China. His main research interest is on the mechanism and prevention of geodisasters. He has undertaken a series of research projects in engineering geology by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Ministry of Education of China, Education Commission of Shanghai Municipality, Science & Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, and National State Key Laboratory. He has published over 40 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences and holds two authorized invention patents and one computer software copyright registration. He has been awarded several research prizes from Geological Society of China, China Association of City Planning and Shanghai Municipality in the field of engineering geology.Professor Faquan Wu, male, born in 1955, is the Secretary General of the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG), the council member of the International Consortium on Landslides (ICL), and the Secretary General of the Engineering Geology Commission, China Geological Society. He is also the deputy editor of `the Journal of Engineering Geology¿, the editorial member of the journal of `Geotechnical Engineering World¿, and the editorial member of `the Chinese Journal of Geological Hazard and Control¿. He serves as the consultant expert for the State Development Planning Commission, the Ministry of Land and Resources. His main research interests are on rock mechanics and engineering geological hazards. He has been awarded the research prize of `Hubei Science and Technology Progress Award¿.Dr. Zhenming Shi, male, born in 1968, is an associate professor of the Department of Geotechnical Engineering at Tongji University. He is now the council member of the Engineering Geology Commission, China Geological Society. His main research interest is on the evaluation, prevention and treatment of geological disasters. He has undertaken a series of research projects in engineering geology by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Urban Construction & Communication Commission of Shanghai Municipality, and National State Key Laboratory.Dr. Bin Ye, male, born in 1977, is an assistant professor of the Department of Geotechnical Engineering at Tongji University. He got his PhD degree at Gifu University, Japan in 2007. His main research interests are on engineering geological hazards and numerical analysis in geotechnical engineering. He has published over 20 papers in international journals and conferences.
