Autorenporträt
Helmut Schmid is a graphic designer from Austria. He apprenticed as type compositor in Germany, and then studied under Emil Ruder, Robert Buechler and Kurt Hauert at the AGS (basel school of design) in Switzerland. After he had worked in the field of visual design in Sweden, Canada, Japan and Germany, he settled as an independent designer in Osaka in 1981. He designed the brand identity of the Japanese hit drink 'pocari sweat' in 1980 and the very successful 'demisoda' drink for Korea in 1993.
