This master thesis studies a traditional and modern approach of green infrastructure and neighborhoods development in both international and local contexts to provide sustainable neighborhood in arid regions, especially in the Arabic cities, using Arriyadh city and Al-Masif neighborhood as a case study. The methodology is studying the concept of green infrastructure and neighborhood development including international and local case studies. Followed by, deep analysis of Arriyadh city and Al-Masif neighborhood. Then, sustainable neighborhood strategies, concepts and guidelines for Arriyadh city and Al-Masif neighborhood were developed, which balance the environmental, social and economic aspects. Each part concluded by matrixes explaining the interconnected relations of green infrastructure components and benefits. This research will help developers, planners, designers, communities to develop sustainable neighborhoods and improve the quality of life for more livable cities.
Autorenporträt
Author works as a research assistant and junior landscape architect. He has a Master degree in Engineering ( M.Eng. ) in 2016 from International Master of Landscape Architecture program, Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University, Freising, Germany. He has a B.Sc in Landscape Architecture in 2012 from King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
