Der Autor Horst Karbaum hat nach einem langen Berufsleben als Ingenieur 2016 mit seiner Autorentätigkeit begonnen. Nach drei Büchern, die Regionalkrimis sind und einem Psychothriller, die er unter Pseudonym herausgegeben hat, hat er zwei Kinderbücher und einen Politthriller geschrieben. Vielseitig wie er ist, liegt nun von ihm auch ein Wien-Reiseführer der besonderen Art vor.
