""A Chaplain's Campaign With General Butler"" is a firsthand account of the American Civil War by Reverend Henry Norman Hudson, who served as a chaplain for the Union Army under General Benjamin Butler. The book details Hudson's experiences during the Siege of Petersburg and the Appomattox Campaign, as well as his interactions with General Butler and other notable figures such as President Abraham Lincoln and General Ulysses S. Grant. Hudson provides insight into the daily life of soldiers, the horrors of battle, and the role of religion in the war effort. The book also includes personal reflections on the moral and ethical implications of war. Overall, ""A Chaplain's Campaign With General Butler"" provides a unique perspective on the Civil War from the viewpoint of a chaplain who witnessed the conflict firsthand. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
