A Diary of Two Parliaments: The Disraeli Parliament, 1874-1880 is a historical book written by Henry William Lucy and published in 1885. The book is a detailed account of the British Parliament during the period when Benjamin Disraeli served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. The author, who was a journalist and a member of parliament, provides a unique perspective on the political events that took place during this time. The book is divided into two parts, with the first part covering the parliamentary session of 1874-1878 and the second part covering the session of 1878-1880. The author provides a day-by-day account of the proceedings in the House of Commons, including debates, speeches, and votes. He also provides insight into the personalities and motivations of the key players in the parliament, including Disraeli himself. In addition to the parliamentary proceedings, the author also provides commentary on the social and cultural events of the time, such as the death of Queen Victoria's son and the growing influence of the press. The book is written in a lively and engaging style, making it accessible to both scholars and general readers.Overall, A Diary of Two Parliaments: The Disraeli Parliament, 1874-1880 is an important historical document that provides a fascinating glimpse into the political and social climate of late 19th century Britain. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
