Depending on the book, absolutely yes! Just as you may be now, I was burnt out on the endless books and contradictory theories this subject attracts. I was not just burnt out, vowing to never waste money on these things again, but annoyed enough to do something about it. More ideas, theories, and opinions are not needed, but an outline based on a rigorous data analysis of the biblical text is needed. Yes, the text of the Bible is data, just what we call unstructured data (data that does not fit neatly into a spreadsheet's rows and columns). God only has one plan for the future. We can find out what he is really telling us about it by charting all prophecies that deal with a sequence of events together and lining up common events. This reveals the natural order of the events. You can then tell the stories the prophesied events tell, with extra detail provided by single-event prophesies. Do your favorite ideas fit the outline? The author subjects the prophetic events of the Bible to a data analysis procedure designed to sort the events into their given relationships such as being before or after other events, co-occurring events, and being the first or last events of their type without the influence of preconceived theories. He then follows different story lines through the resulting data to report the meaning of the resulting pattern of events.
