Dr. Matthew Ogwu  is an assistant professor of sustainable development and integrated ecology at Appalachian State University, USA. He obtained his PhD in biological sciences from Seoul National University, and M.Sc. and B.Sc. from University of Benin, Nigeria. Dr Ogwu is an interdisciplinary academic with numerous awards and scholarships to his name. His research focuses on the assessment of coupled human and natural systems, and socio-ecological systems for sustainable environmental development which includes soil microbial and geographical ecology, economic plant characterization for breeding and conservation, ethnobotany and biodiversity issues and policies. Dr. Ogwu has published over 100 peer-reviewed works and has presented his results at different international conferences.

Dr. Sylvester Izah  obtained his PhD in applied microbiology and environmental health, M.Sc. in applied microbiology, and B.Sc. in biological sciences from Niger Delta University, Nigeria. Dr. Izah worked in an environmental consultancy firm for over six years focusing on soil, water and atmospheric assessment. He has carried out studies on vegetation cover and biodiversity, concerning species diversity and composition in the course of his early career. He is presently a lecturer at the Bayelsa Medical University, Yenagoa, Nigeria. Dr. Izah has an impressive research and publication record. Dr. Izah has over 20 peer-reviewed publications including journal articles, book chapters and edited books.

Prof. Jorge Gabriel Vazquez-Arenas  has a PhD in chemical engineering from University of Waterloo, Canada and completed his postdoctoral fellowship in the Electrical and Controls Integration Laboratory at General Motors, USA. Prof. Jorge has published over 120 scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals and has over 2530 article citations (with an h-index of 28). Professor Vazquez-Arenas is responsible for 7 CONAHCYT projects, 1 with the US Army in collaboration with UNAB of Chile, 6 with industry, and 4 internally at SIP-IPN in energy storage and conversion, and wastewater treatment.

Dr. Shiferaw Feleke  is an agricultural economist at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Before joining IITA in 2014, he worked in the Agricultural Policy Analysis Center (APAC) of the University of Tennessee. He has over 15 years of experience in agricultural research, policy analysis of commodity programs, agricultural productivity analysis, and impact assessments. His research interests include applied circular economy, technology and policy impact evaluation, and international development. He has published several articles in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals. Shiferaw holds a PhD in agricultural economics from the University of Florida.

Dr. Wei Xun  holds a PhD in agricultural economic management and is an experienced project manager in agricultural science and technology programs belonging to Ministry of Science and Technology. His current focus includes biotechnology innovation, tracking the trend, resource allocation and commercialization policy environment of biotechnology and other cutting-edge agricultural technologies in the context of the bioeconomy landscape.
