Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood is a charming and magical story about finding yourself, embracing second chances, and discovering that it is never too late to become the person you were meant to be. At its heart, the novel follows a woman who is trying to reconnect with herself and find the confidence she has lost along the way. Her journey feels relatable and genuine, making it easy to root for her as she gradually learns to believe in herself. More importantly, it is a story about realizing that life does not end when things go wrong and that new beginnings can appear when you least expect them. I also loved that the heroine is in her thirties rather than a teenager. It gives the story a refreshing perspective and makes the themes of self-discovery, second chances, and personal growth feel all the more meaningful. It is a welcome reminder that growth and change are not limited to coming-of-age stories. One of the book’s greatest strengths is its worldbuilding. The magical world of witches is wonderfully imagined and full of charm, creating an atmosphere that feels both cosy and enchanting. It is the kind of setting that invites you to linger a little longer, simply because spending time there is such a delight. Despite its cosy atmosphere, the story remains engaging and hard to put down. It balances warmth, humour, and magic beautifully, creating a reading experience that feels comforting without ever becoming dull. Rewitched is a delightful blend of magic, self-discovery, and second chances. A cosy fantasy full of witches, wonder, and the reminder that believing in yourself can be the most powerful magic of all. ✨‍♀️

Cosy, herbstlich, zauberhaft

Eigentlich ist Bella Blackthorn eine Hexe. Ihre Kräfte nutzt sie aber eher für Kleinigkeiten, wie Tee kochen, und konzentriert sich auf ihr nichtmagisches Leben. Als sie an ihrem 30. Geburtstag zu einer Prüfung des Hexenzirkels geladen wird, droht der Verlust ihrer Magie. Ihr bleiben 30 Tage Zeit, um ihre magische Entwicklung unter Beweis zu stellen. Ich gebe zu, es hat ein paar Kapitel gebraucht um in dieser herbstlichen, cosy Hexengeschichte anzukommen. Dann haben mich Belles Bemühungen ihre Magie zu behalten aber wirklich gepackt. Der Schreibstil ist angenehm zu lesen und versprüht Wärme. Ich konnte fast die Behaglichkeit, die das Nutzen der Magie ausmacht, spüren. Daneben fand ich das Setting, mit der kleinen Buchhandlung in London, die Bella retten möchte, sehr gelungen. Bellas doch etwas unsicherer, vorsichtiger Charakter voller Selbstzweifel, entwickelt sich im Laufe des Buches, sodass sie zum Schluss um ihre Magie kämpft. Ein ganz wichtiger Inhalt ist daher tatsächlich Mut und Selbstfindung. Es gibt auch eine kleine Liebesgeschichte, eher Slow Burn, ohne Spice, die ich sehr süß fand. Auch die Nebenfiguren gehen nicht unter. Beispielsweise ist es wirklich rührend, wie sehr sich Bellas großväterlicher Mentor um ihre Fortschritte bemüht. Fazit: Für mich ein ideales Buch für die herbstliche Zeit vor Halloween.
