Jack of Hearts (And Other Parts) (And Other Parts)

I haven’t been this disappointed in a book in a while. Even though I really disliked it, I forced myself to get it over with, holding my hopes up that the end of the book would hold a pleasant surprise – but it didn’t. The book is about Jack, an openly gay teenager who starts giving sex advice à la „Sex Education“ on the internet. But Jack is also being blackmailed by his secret crush who wants him to stop his online column where he talks about his sex life. It could have been an interesting, thrilling read but it didn’t do anything but bore and annoy me. Jack was a walking cliché, his character bothersome due to his overly self-centered nature, his advice bordering on terrible. The tension, the blackmailing should have promised, didn't come up at all, the resolution of the crime underwhelming. To me, this book wasn't worth my time.
