Guy Walker is a retired French and Italian teacher from the South of England now residing in Edinburgh. He has had his poetry and translations of French poets such as Baudelaire, Laforgue and Rimbaud published in the online magazines, The New English Review and The Brazen Head. In addition he has had reviews, as well as cultural and political articles published in various well known online publications. He has edited and contributed to his own online arts and ideas magazine. Guy has two grown up children. Imagined anew, Jonathan Swift's much loved character breaks off temporarily from his Voyage to the Houyhnhnms to have four new adventures in the 21st century. Written in the elegant Augustan prose of the original we accompany him on.... A Voyage to Khiliastika Gulliver comes face to face with The Festival of the Catastrophe, The Apockalyptick Prognostickations and The Frenzy and makes a narrow escape. A Voyage to Obversia Our hero encounters a system of power founded on a brand new currency, The Vertue Mines, the Chamber of Opticks and the Island of the Poor. A Voyage to Ypsilosia In the city of Schro Dinga, split in two by the River Phrenos, Gulliver learns of the Principle of Transcendence and the art of being simultaneously the thing which is and the thing which is not. A Voyage to St Helena Visiting a British colony, Gulliver discovers the Enclosure of Common Sense by the Natural Philosophers and the misery of the cognitive revenants it creates. He participates in a revolution aided by two Royal Naval Ships of the Line.
