Rezension

"He considers a broad range of topics gleaned from questions posed on the speaking circuit, such as the challenges facing working mothers or how to operate in China's autocratic business culture. He even reflects on his mistakes and comments on current events. All of this is offered in the breezy, blunt style that was his hallmark at GE. The result is a guide that's more candid and accessible than earlier works by or about Welch." - The Arizona Daily Star

"Jack obviously is one of the leading businesspeople in today's society." - Ed Rodriguez, Nationwide Insurance

"He is everybody's model of the quintessential CEO." - Jeffrey A. Sonnenfeld, Yale School of Management

"Jack brings so much to the table that the table belongs to him. [...] His experience, his pure pitch not only for business but every nuance around it, is unequaled." - Barry Diller

"Winning is more than just questions and answers; its an organized and readable how to manual." - U.S. News & World Report

"In Winning Welch dispenses the sharp-edged business acumen that earned him a reputation as a daunting corporate leader. He is giving back what he learned, and not just to fellow CEOs. He is able to write a book that might just reach the rest of us." - USA Today

"Welch's book, written with his dealy beloved newish wife, Suzy, is already being called the bible of business for generations to come." - W Magazine

"Welch was full of words of wisdom adn the kind of straight-from-the-gut message that made him a tough and incredibly successful boss at GE." - Salem News

"Welch's management philosphy has been clearly laod out in his new bestselling book, Winning, co-authored by his new, thrid wife, Suzy. [...] Collecting brainiacs works. 'Suzy helped me codify what I knew instinctively,' Welch says. She drew out his reality-tested concepts about candor, rewarding performance and eliminating mediocrity." - LA Times

"Pick any chapter of Winning, former General Electric Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive Jack Welch's latest distillation of philosophical and practical business and life wisdom, and you'll come up with a winner. Already gaining plaudits from many reviewers, Winning covers every essential area of running a winning business in Welch's characteristically lucid, straight-from-the-gut style." - Fort Worth Star Telegram

Very nice - for a management book

alinuxexpert aus Europa am 13.05.2008

Bewertungsnummer: 581836

Bewertet: Buch (Gebundene Ausgabe)

This is a very nice book in case you are aware of the fact that it is just another management book. Nothing radical, nothing new, but Jack Welch is sure passionated about management and I think he delivers the right opinions and facts. You also stumble about many important and up-to-date concepts like "mission" and "core competencies" for example. As to the book itself: It is perfectly published, I am not aware of many mistakes and the hardcover and the paper are of a very high quality. I think it is worth reading!
