After Book 1, I had one major criticism: the logical inconsistencies occasionally pulled me out of an otherwise incredibly addictive story. So I was curious whether Book 2 would manage to keep everything I loved while tightening exactly that part. It did. The inconsistencies are still not completely gone, but they felt significantly less noticeable this time. And everything that made me devour the first book is still here: Kalia, her four dangerously addictive men, their fantastic banter, plenty of spice, and a plot that keeps moving and rarely gives you room to breathe. But what impressed me most about this installment was the additional depth beneath the Dark Romance. The author introduces PTSD in soldiers and the consequences that can remain long after the actual battlefield has been left behind. What I appreciated was the restraint. The subject is given emotional weight without being turned into a dramatic device simply to make us feel sorry for a character. Instead, we see how trauma can continue to influence behavior, relationships, reactions, and the ability to return to a supposedly "normal" life. And then the story adds another layer I hadn't necessarily expected: environmental protection, responsibility, and morality. Dark Romance often deliberately asks us to accept morally questionable characters. Here, however, morality becomes part of the plot itself. What are we willing to destroy for power or profit? When does looking away make us complicit? And can people who operate comfortably in moral grey zones still draw very clear lines when something matters enough? For me, these questions give the suspense plot considerably more substance without turning the novel into a lecture. The social themes are simply woven into a story that remains first and foremost entertaining, spicy, tense, and wonderfully addictive. And Kalia and the guys? Still my favorite part. Their banter keeps their relationship alive beyond the sexual attraction, while the spicy scenes deliver exactly what I hoped for after Book 1. I genuinely didn't know there would be a third book, though. So that ending caught me completely unprepared. That is not an ending. That is a threat. A real cliffhanger, and one I desperately hope will be resolved soon because at this point, I want only one thing: Give those five their Happy End. And please, please give Liam one too.

Eine explosive Mischung aus Military Romance und S**. Viel S**. 240 Seiten umfasst Shattered Control 2. In der Widmung und dem Prolog crashen wir schon voll rein. Lia Hope hat ein sehr gutes Händchen für den military Trope! Die Spannung die sie damit aufbaut ist einmalig. Für mich persönlich war auch alles stimmig und flüssig zu lesen. Leider war es mir aber im Mittelteil zu viel Spice. Traurig aber wahr 50 Seiten weniger hätten es auch getan. Hier kommt dann aber 100% Reverse Harem durch Es ist gut und feurig zu lesen aber mir persönlich eben etwas viel. Dafür kam ich in den letzten 40 Seiten wieder voll auf meine Kosten und im Epilog wird dem Cliffhanger nochmal eine Krone aufgesetzt! Ich bin gespannt wie es in Teil 3 weiter geht und zwischen wem der große Showdown stattfindet! Abschließend würde ich sagen, wer Teil 1 gut fand, wird auch Teil 2 für gut befinden und auf das Finale genauso warten wie ich
