Das wahrscheinlich beste Buch was ich gelesen habe. Über einige Passagen muss ich immer wieder nachdenken. Eine ganz eigene Art von Horror, welche besonders im Umgang mit Trauer brilliert.

Stephen King himself describes it as the one book that frightened him the most and I have to agree with him. I found it more gruesome than most of King's popular works like IT or the Shining, because it deals with a universal subject that we are all confronted with at some point: Death. And what if there is something more terrible yet: Coming back from it! It's even more bone-chilling, knowing that a lot of inspiration for this work was drawn from King's own experiences. A truly terrifying read that will haunt you for a while after closing it...

You start to get in the story, feel it. It is at times scary. It is cool, he quotes the bible, he quotes a rock band.

The book is really nice, it is nice to read. It is very unpredictable, and at times it can be really chilling.

Ich hatte zuerst den Film gesehen, der mich doch ziemlich verstört hat. Trotzdem hat mich die Geschichte jahrelang nicht losgelassen. Also musste ich das Buch auch noch lesen. Es liest sich sehr gut und ausgesprochen flüssig. Wirklich spannend wird es erst auf den letzten 100 Seiten - dann aber dafür umso mehr. Ich glaube, dass die Geschichte umso vielschichtiger wird, je mehr man darüber nachdenkt...
