Md Ismail Hossain is Professor of Social Work at Shahjalal University of Science & Technology, Bangladesh. He received his Ph.D. in labor studies. Dr. Hossain was International Visiting Scholar at Monmouth University and Pennsylvania State University in 2012 and 2017, respectively. He has been deeply engaged in searching for human rights issues of marginalized groups. He has extensive research expertise that covers disaster management, gender development, social protection, and wellbeing of disadvantaged communities. He has published numerous articles in various international reputed journals. He is Author of a book, Social Justice in the Globalization of Production: Labor, Gender and the Environment Nexus (New York: Palgrave Macmillan). In addition to research and publication, he is actively engaged in delivering intervention for bringing transformative change to the lives of the socially disadvantaged communities.
