Portrait

Dr. Ramu Baadiga is Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore, India, specializing in Geosynthetic Engineering, Pavement Geotechnics (flexible and inverted pavements), Ground Improvement, AI-ML applications in Geotechnical Engineering, and Nature-Inspired Geotechnics. He holds a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from IIT Hyderabad, where he developed a mechanistic-empirical design for geogrid and geocell-reinforced flexible pavements, a project funded by NHAI. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at IIT Hyderabad, focusing on field performance evaluation of geosynthetic-reinforced pavements. Dr. Ramu’s academic journey includes an M.Tech. in Geotechnical Engineering from NIT Silchar and a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) with a Minor in Business Management Studies. He has held faculty positions at IIT Patna and IIT Indore. He has received multiple prestigious awards, including the IGS-Shri A. G. Dastidar Biennial Award (2022) for best paper in ground improvement, the Outstanding Research Performance Award (2022), Best Reviewer Award (2023) from IGJ Journal, Best Technology Award (2025) and the GEOMATE Best Paper Award (2021). Dr. Ramu is actively involved in professional organizations, serving as Joint Secretary of the Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) Indore Chapter (2024–2026) and holding memberships in the IGS, ISSMGE, IRC, TC Committees of ISSMGE and IEI, among others.

Dr. Neelima Satyam is currently a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore. She holds a Ph.D. and M.Tech from IIT Delhi and a B.Tech from SV University, Tirupati. Before joining IIT Indore, she served as an Assistant Professor at the Earthquake Engineering Research Centre, IIIT Hyderabad. Dr. Satyam was also a visiting researcher at Kyushu University (2023), the University of Stuttgart (2018), and the University of Tokyo (2013). She is actively involved in teaching, research, and consultancy in Geotechnical Engineering. Dr. Satyam is a National Executive Committee Member of the Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) and Chairman of the IGS Indore Local Chapter. Her expertise lies in Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering, Microzonation, Site Response Studies, Landslide Hazard, Monitoring, Microseismic Data Processing, and Rock Engineering. Dr. Satyam has received research grants from DST, MHRD, AICTE, ITRA, DAE, NIOT, NRDMS, ISRO, and MoES.

Dr. Pranav R. T. Peddinti is Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Coordinator of the Centre for Drone Technology and Applications at SRM University AP, India. Dr. Peddinti is Civil Engineering Professional, specializing in pavement geotechnics, UAV-based infrastructure monitoring, and sustainable materials. He holds a Ph.D. in Pavement Geotechnics from IIT Hyderabad, where his research developed system reliability-based design frameworks for flexible pavements. His research areas include drone technology applications in infrastructure condition assessment, non-destructive testing, secondary materials and heritage structure digitization and assessments. Dr. Peddinti was a Brain Pool Fellow and Research Assistant Professor at UNIST, South Korea. He authored multiple research papers in several journals.
