Ramesh Singh is a Professor in the School of Life & Environmental Sciences, Chapman University, USA. Between 2007 and 2009, he was a Professor with George Mason University, Virginia, USA and was a Distinguished Visiting Professor with the Centre of Earth Observing Space Research 2003-2005. Prior to that, he worked as a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India from 1986 to 2007. His main areas of interests are Natural Hazards, Seismic Risk evaluation and Urban environment and Atmospheric pollution, and he has supervised Master and Ph.D. students in the fields of Remote Sensing, Engineering Geosciences, Natural Hazards and Atmospheric pollution and Applied Geophysics. Dr. Singh has published more than 200 journal publications and has edited several books. He is a recipient of the Indian National Remote Sensing, National Mineral, and Hari Om Ashram Prerit awards. He has visited Free University Berlin, Germany as an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow and Hirosaki University, Japan as a JSPS Fellow and is member of the International Committees on GeoRisk Commission and EMSEV Bureau, as well as the Editor in Chief of Geomatics, Natural Hazards and Risk, Associate Editor of the International Journal of Remote Sensing and past Editor in Chief of the Indian Journal of Remote Sensing.

Ashwani Raju is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology, Banaras Hindu University, India. He has fulfilled different roles in academic research, mapping, and exploration, including a Senior Geologist position at the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Ministry of Mines, Government of India from 2011 to 2017. He also visited Chapman University, USA, as a DST-SERB Fellow for six months from September 2023 to March 2024. His research mainly focuses on the mapping and monitoring of Earth resources using advanced remote sensing. His interests include the application of Remote Sensing and GIS in mapping and monitoring Earth resources with a specialization in thermal and microwave remote sensing, GIS, and field Geology and has published in numerous reputed journals. As a member of the faculty in the Department of Geology, Banaras Hindu University, India, his teaching interests include Physical Geology, Geomorphology and Theoretical Remote Sensing along with Earth and its Atmosphere. He has supervised 11 master's theses and is currently supervising 3 Ph.D. theses in the field of natural hazards.
