Now she must appease the vengeful gods, or it will mean the end of not only her but every Mami Watas and the sea godesses life. Natasha Bowen spins a thrilling and enticing tale I couldn't put down. A must-read!

I really liked the story of Simi and Kola. Finally a book in a west African setting, embodying the African gods and spirits. I have to admit that this book has been written for young adults and I am not in the target group. Sometimes Simi was a bit too naive for me and the pacing was too slow, but probably young readers will love this story. It is also wonderful in terms of representation. And did I mention the gorgeous cover?
