Carry On The Rise and Fall of Simon Snow

A fantastic and magical story about a chosen one who may not be as special as everyone thinks. "Carry on" is a part of novel series Cath writes fan fiction of in "Fangirl", a story that reminds us of another famous wizard's. Except here he falls for his nemesis. A wonderful twist

Ich bin durch das Buch "Fangirl" von Rainbow Rowell auf die Simon-Snow-Triologie gestoßen und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Das Buch beinhaltet Drachen, Vampire, Magie, Selbstfindung, tolle tiefgründige Charaktere und eine queere Lovestory. Eine absolute Herzensempfehlung von mir!

Habe alle drei Bücher gelesen und finde vor allem das erste absolut genial. Ich finde den mysteriösen Baz total heiß und viele Situtationen und Unterhaltungen sind zum schreien komisch, weil sie so absurd sind.

ein Traum für jeden, der in der FanFiction Community Zeit verbracht hat. Viele Harry Potter und FanFictions Klischee werden verdreht oder super umgesetzt. Die Geschichte ist kein 7 Wäzler Epic aber mitreißend und emotional. Die Hauptcharaktere sind sehr real, auch wenn sie Klischee Stereotypen sind, sie haben mich sehr an Rick Riordan Charaktere erinnert. Jeder hat menschlich Eigenschaften, gute wie schlechte und die Teens benehmen und denken wie Jugendliche. Das es wechselnde Erzähler gibt, und nicht nur die zwei Hauptcharaktere, hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Es wirkt "erwachsener" und realistischer als Harry Potter aber trotzdem YA, nur dadurch wie die Protagonisten denken und reden. Must read für Harry/Draco Fans :D

Sure, apart from the characters being queer the story seems to have many parallels to J.K. Rowlings Universe. But its completely different in so many great aspects. Rowell created a beautiful magical universe with a very interesting concept of magic itself and how to use it. The characters can be a little annoying at times but you feel them while reading. Their stories get under your skin and involve you emotionally, which I really liked about this book. I´ll be a big Rowell Fan from now on and I cant wait to continue reading Baz and Simons Story in Wayward Son.
