Es ist zu eine meiner Lieblingsbücher geworden! Sehr gut geschriebene, wunderschöne Geschichte die wie eine Märchenerzählung wirkt. Es werden auch einige Märchen und Folklore erzählt innerhalb der Geschichte. Es erinnert außerdem sehr an Studio Ghibli, was mich persönlich dadurch extrem überzeugt. Es kommt ein chinesischer Drache darin vor, was ebenfalls bei mir enorme Pluspunkte einbringt. Wunderbare Charaktere, alle sehr unterschiedlich und dennoch alle likeable. Liebe diese Geschichte von vorne bis hinten. Page turner: War von der ersten Seite an total in den Bann gezogen!

If you like Ghibli movies, especially Spirited Away or Howl's Moving Castle, this is the book for you. The world felt really magical and whimsical and I loved all the characters and the creatures from korean mythology. Definitely a good book if you are looking for these kinds of Vibes. The writing style was also very nice which made it a very easy and quick read.

This book is about the 16 year old Mina who sacrifices herself to the sea god to save her brother. She is traversing the spirit world to figure out how to lift the curse that has befallen the sea god and finds friends, family and love on the way. It is a lovely tale with Korean influences, perfect for young readers.

The girl who fell beneath the sea ist mein absolutes Komfortbuch! ☺️ Die Aufmachung, der Schreibstil, einfach alles ist so wunderschön und großartig - I can't. Eine wundervolle Fantasy Story die mich sehr überzeugt hat. Ich habe mir das Buch auch auf Deutsch nochmal gekauft nur um es dann auf Deutsch noch einmal zu lesen um dieses Feeling vom Anfang zu haben.

Such a great and wonderful tale! A perfect fit for fans of Spirited Away and asian legends and myths. I loved every second of this book and couldn't help myself rooting for Mina. An absolute 10/10!
