The Caretaker

I really liked this book, maybe even more than We Used To Live Here (though that story better be continued some day I need my doomed Yuri). Marcus Kliewer really is the king of "there is a thing in my house" horror. I was tensed in my seat and sometimes did have the urge to scream at the protagonist (only for the book to do it for me in the next sentence). But in all honesty, the situations in this book are situations in which none of us would have done much better. You did your best, Macy and I love and appreciate you. You need to hear that, depressed fictional character. I also really liked the different vibes between those two books, even though the overall topic was the same. Macy and Eve from We Used To Live Here are very different characters with very different world views, so they also react very differently to bad things happening, yet both are still sympathetic in their own ways. Many authors have different protagonists that sound exactly the same internally, so I really feel the need to point out how positively different those books are from each other in that aspect.
