Ich habe das englischsprachige Hörbuch gehört und bin begeistert. Hatte es ein paar Längen? Ja sicher. Es wurde sogar die Vermutung angestellt, dass das so von der Autorin beabsichtigt war, um das Innere der Protagonistin Nathalie noch erlebbarer zu machen. Ich würde gerne sagen, dass ich Nathalie absolut unsympathisch finde, aber das wäre gelogen. Sie ist in meinen Augen eine zutiefst verstörte Frau, die sich selbst unentwegt belügt, was das Lese- bzw. Hörvergnügen nur noch mehr erhöht. Das Buch bekommt von mir eine absolute Empfehlung!

Mir war der Inhalt dieses Buchs so fremd, dieses Herumhüpfen zwischen den Erzählebenen, die "Neue Welt" der öffentlichen Autorepräsentation (das einzige übrigens, was ich ganz gut fand) und des Themas Mutterschaft, Family, Kapitalismus und "Amerikanismus". Der angebliche Humor blieb mir verborgen. Den Kritiken konnte ich nicht folgen.
