Portrait

Dr. Umesh Kumar is a Professor in the Department of Biosciences at IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) and has led the Research Department since 2019. Previously, he served as a Scientific Officer in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Delhi. He earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, focusing on "Epigenetic Regulation in Breast Carcinogenesis," from the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Centre for Biomedical Research, University of Delhi, in 2013. Dr. Kumar's research interests include molecular diagnosis of cervical cancer, molecular epigenetics of breast carcinogenesis, CAR T-cell therapy, and tumor virology. He has published 50 research articles and contributed over 21 book chapters to reputable publishers. He has received multiple grants and has been honored with two Young Scientist Awards and one Senior Scientist Award. Additionally, he reviews for several international journals and serves as a Doctoral Research Committee (DRC) Expert member at various Indian universities.

Dr. Deepak Parashar earned his PhD in 2016 from the National Institute of Immunology and Jaipur National University, focusing on the role of SOX4 in cervical cancer. He then joined Dr. Chaluvally’s lab as a postdoctoral fellow at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he investigated microRNAs like miR551b in breast and ovarian cancers and screened anti-cancer drugs for ovarian treatment. In 2022, he became an Assistant Professor in Dr. Janz’s lab, researching immuno-oncology in multiple myeloma (MM). His current work explores microRNAs and transcription factors like FOXM1 in the tumor immune microenvironment to enhance immunotherapies. Additionally, he studies drug resistance mechanisms and develops nanotechnology-based targeted drug delivery systems for preclinical models. Dr. Parashar has published over 50 manuscripts in prestigious journals and has over 10 years of cancer research experience, mentoring postdocs and graduate students while serving as a peer reviewer and associate editor for various journals.

Dr. Sandeep Kumar Singh is Assistant Professor in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur, India. He obtained his PhD in Biotechnology from Banaras Hindu University and conducted postdoctoral research in the Department of Neurobiology at the University of Chicago. Dr. Singh brings 17 years of experience in neuroscience, molecular biology, neurodegenerative diseases, aging, nutraceuticals, and nanomedicines. He is a member of several scientific societies, including the American Academy of Neurology, International Society of Neurochemistry, Society of Neurochemistry, Indian Academy of Neurosciences, and Alzheimer’s and related Disorders Society of India. Dr. Singh has published five books, including Elsevier’s A New Era in Alzheimer’s Research and Genome Editing for Neurodegenerative Diseases.

Dr. Sachin Kumar is a Scientist in the Department of Medical Oncology at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital, AIIMS, New Delhi, where he has been serving since 2016. He earned his PhD from AIIMS in 2010, with research focused on circulating DNA and protein markers in lung cancer, and later pursued post-doctoral training in cancer gene therapy at Virginia Commonwealth University, USA.

His current research focuses on liquid biopsy and the role of non-coding RNAs as biomarkers in lung cancer, supported by national and institutional grants. He has authored more than 50 publications in leading international journals and has been recognized with several honors, including the AIIMS Excellence Research Awards (2020, 2022) and the Young Investigator Award from the Indian Society for Study of Lung Cancer (2019).

Dr. Kumar serves on the Editorial Board of Discover Oncology and reviews for numerous high-impact journals. He is also an active member of the American Association for Cancer Research and a Life Member of the Indian Society for Study of Lung Cancer and the Indian Association for Cancer Research.
