He is also Head of the Acute Cardiac Care Unit (Department of Cardiology) at Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón, Madrid.

Professor Martínez-Sellés is the President of the College of Physicians, Madrid. He is Vice President of the Interprofessional Association of the Madrid Regio, and Past Vice President of the Ethics Committee of Hospital Gregorio Marañón. Professor Martínez-Sellés is Past President of the Section on Geriatric Cardiology in the Spanish Society of Cardiology.
