Artist and scientist, visionary and logician. Through ten colorful stories, get to know Leonardo da Vinci, the man behind the world's most famous smile!
Leonardo loves learning about the world around him and develops his own style of drawing called "knowing how to see." He creates thousands of drawings in his quest to understand the world. From far and wide, wealthy patrons ask Leonardo to paint their portraits or create inventions to make their cities safer. When the city of Venice is attacked by sea, who do they ask to help them in their time of need? Leonardo! When the Duke of Milan wants a mural in his new church, who does he ask to paint it? Leonardo!
Through his impressive artistic talent and scientific curiosity, Leonardo's contributions permanently change how people view the world.
Each book in this collectible series is an exciting combination of the perpetually popular 5 Minute stories format and nonfiction biographies for young readers genres. The series' unique approach, with each book containing ten exciting stand alone-stories in the life of a genius plus bonus informational content on the science, craft, and history behind each story, creates an engaging reading experience for young readers. 5-Minute Genius explores a broad range of noteworthy individuals with STEM appeal for readers ages 6–9, from polymaths like Leonardo da Vinci to artists like Frida Kahlo, environmentalists like Jane Goodall and athletes like Simone Biles to activists like the Suffragettes.
