ARC Review – Thank you for the opportunity to read this story early. Plot A burned-out conductor returns to his rural hometown, only to be rescued by a younger local who’s long admired him. What follows is part healing story, part romance, though it moves too quickly for the emotional beats to land. The premise has potential, but the execution sometimes feels off-key. Characters Kiri is tired and withdrawn, while Osamu is eager and overbearing. Their dynamic starts abruptly and doesn’t leave much room for gradual connection. Some moments that were meant to be tender came across as intrusive, making it hard to root for their relationship. Worldbuilding & Setting The rural setting is cozy and soft, with lovely glimpses of quiet winter landscapes. The art is beautiful—elegant lines, expressive faces, and a warmth that almost makes up for the story’s uneven tone. Writing Style The storytelling is simple and visual, relying heavily on atmosphere. It’s emotional in moments but lacks the depth to make the romance fully believable. The pacing feels rushed, and the tonal balance between comfort and discomfort is shaky. Recommendation A visually stunning but uneven story that works better as a slice-of-life about recovery than as a convincing romance. Fans of melancholic, atmospheric BL might still enjoy the mood and art style.
