Valencia 'An exuberant, hilarious record of an unprecedented and mutinous time in queer history' Maggie Nelson

Highly recommend Valencia as a light read, especially to cure a reading slump. It's a fast-paced, raunchy memoire of a 25-yeor old lesbian woman and her wild adventures in 1990s San Francisco, full of night life, alcohol and drug consumption, safe sex, promiscuity and heartbreak. As an easy read I enjoyed it very much, it doesn't have much meat to it, but its somewhat abject parts were interesting enough to keep me hooked. Also really liked that most characters were incredibely flawed and thus not very likeable, which made them feel so human to me and elevated the story.
