Girl, Woman, Other WINNER OF THE BOOKER PRIZE 2019

First of all: this book is amazing. Second of all: I am struggling a lot with formulating this review, because to me it's barely impossible to put it into words how amazing this book is. It's about women, it's about girls but it's also about other things. Many other things. To me, Evaristo managed to grasp the full meaning of being human and delicately worked it into this masterpiece. It really is a book about everything for everyone with the most relatable and human characters that I've read in a while. It is truly exceptional in its writing, as well as in its pioneering content.

Anfangs etwas ungewohnt reinzukommen, aber danach hat mich das Buch voll gepackt. Der Einblick in das Leben der 12 Charaktere fühlt sich sehr persönlich und real an. Es teilt viele verschiene Perspektiven die sehr Interessant gestaltet sind. Es ist vielleicht kein Buch für Leser, die an viel Spannung gewöhnt sind, die das Buch sonnst vielleicht als langweilig empfinden könnten. Alles in allem wirklich ein sehr gutes Buch.

Absolut faszinierend, wie warmherzig, wie facettenreich, wie empathisch, aber auch differenziert Menschen (12 Hauptpersonen und noch viele mehr) in ihrer Verwobenheit auf ihrem Lebensweg beschrieben werden.

What a great,interesting, enjoyable and shocking book. Really cleverly written and so impressive how black women suffer and survive in Great Britain (or all over the world) until today! It left me speechless.

Loved it. the first chapter was a little hard to read (for me) but once I got the writting style I couldn't put it away. Every story is unique, some I was left with an opened mouth and and some with a broken heart. definitely worth the read this is one of those books you can re-read and still be fascinated by it.
