Handsome Devil (Deluxe Edition)

I feel like with every book the Forbidden Love Series by L.J. Shen just gets better and better. And omg what a book Handsome Devil is, and Gia and Tate have sucked me into their story like no other.   Tate truly is a handsome devil and he’s unhinged, psychotic and just knows what he wants. He was so morally grey, and it never got boring with him, and he always stirred the fire. He is obsessed with his secretary Gia and wants to make her his wife and there is so much more to that.   Gia is not only a gorgeous woman, but she knows exactly how to handle Tate. She doesn’t give in and enjoys her life as it is, but Tate is like a tornado who takes her world apart in the best way.   These two are like yin and yang and they are such a perfect match. Their banter is next level, and they strike the perfect deal. I couldn’t put this book down and it was just amazing scene after amazing scene. And don’t even get me started on the spicy scenes who were scorching hot. I loved the mafia elements in this book who added a lot of suspense and made me even more excited for Bad Bishop. This story was just the perfect mixture of entertainment and romance.   Obsessed with this book and Tate and Gia and I highly recommend it if you want to read a dark and delicious marriage-of-convenience romance. 5 stars.

First of all, read the trigger warning and even then be prepared because it is very explicit in some ways. I'm normally ok with all the triggers, but I wasn't in the right headspace for this one. I couldn't take the necessary step away. This means in one way that the writing is excellent and not only descriptive (it is) but opens all the images in your head, too. This story is really well written, and even non native English readers could enjoy Gias and Tates' story. I liked the most that Gia's a fierce woman who's having a significant evolution. Tate is just Tate. I also liked the chemistry between them.
