Kith and Mara have been on the run for several months, fighting to survive against all odds. They have no idea where they came from or why they look so different from the people around them. When they were in the freak show, their differences were applauded. Now that they are on the run, however, people see their purple skin, tails, and claws as monstrous. They brush them off as fantasy until something horrid happens to the people in the world once viewed as utopian. Suddenly, it's hard to shake the feeling that they are truly out there and need help. Especially when a familiar dark voice reaches out to Mara with a threat.
