Lily, 24, lives in New York and is working at a mail delivery service while freelancing for a magazine in hopes of making it as a journalist. Financial struggles and living with her best friend make her life a constant balancing act. When she delivers a letter that requires a personal signature from West Archer, one of the wealthiest and most influential businessmen in town, things take an unexpected turn. Not only does she meet West, but also his two business partners, Xavier and Zeke. The trio’s interest in Lily grows when they encounter her again at their exclusive club and what begins as a chance encounter soon evolves into a much deeper connection. The three men share a complicated bond and are looking for someone to complete their unconventional relationship. Could Lily be the perfect fit for all of them?
This book is my first introduction to the author, and I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I was drawn into the story. This book marks my first dive into the MMMF romance genre, and I was intrigued by the combination of romance with a touch of darkness and a mafia backdrop. The chemistry between the characters is well-written. The story is heavily focused on the bedroom scenes, so if that’s something you don’t like, then this is not a book for you.
While the writing style was engaging and had a good dose of humor, Lily’s nicknames made me cringe (buttercup, shorty … oh please no), but that’s personal preference I suppose. The love confessions also felt a tad too dramatic for my taste. A little more subtlety could have worked wonders. That said, it’s an enjoyable and fast-paced read that kept me hooked for two days straight. It could have been slightly shorter, but I still found it to be very entertaining. And hot.
