The story depicts the evolution of a community of naive animal revolutionaries who expelled its owner, the cruel Mr. Jones, from the barnyard: from romantic freedom to the dictatorship of an insidious and selfish boar named Napoleon.
In the story, Orwell showed the degeneration of revolutionary principles and programs, that is, the gradual transition from the ideas of universal equality and the construction of a utopia to dictatorship and totalitarianism. "Animal Farm" is a parable, an allegory of the 1917 revolution and subsequent events in Russia.

What a great book! I am not sure what I was expecting from it, but it wasn't this greatness! The amount of times I was left with goosebumps and a fast heartbeat...I find it clever how the author created a comparison to political themes in the past. And the ending.. wow.

Absolutely beautiful way of showing politics in a book which seems like a fairytale. All the little details that refer to Soviet Union (the horn and a hoof like a hammer and a sickle).
I read this book outloud for my mother and translated it to her (we are from Ukraine) and she told me that many things that are mentioned in 1984 were real in the Soviet Union. I can't even imagine how horrible it was.
