Step into the rich and miraculous history of New Orleans and discover how a small group of French Ursuline nuns received Divine Assistance through their patroness, Our Lady of Prompt Succor. This engaging children's book highlights the ardent charity of the Ursuline Sisters from their arrival in Louisiana in 1727 and their impact on pivotal moments in the city's history. Remarkably vivid illustrations capture the unwavering faith of the Sisters and the extraordinary events that shaped the destiny of the Crescent City, from the devastating fire in 1788 to the War of 1812 that helped a young Andrew Jackson's rag-tag band of fighters overcome the world's fiercest military. "Our Lady of Prompt Succor and the Battle of New Orleans" is more than a read-along for children. People of all ages will not only cherish its transcendent message of resilience, fortitude, and courage, but also learn from the enduring spirit of the city and its people that our help is in the name of the Lord, most especially when invoked through the intercession of Our Lady of Prompt Succor.
