    ... And whatever walked there, walked alone... Ich habe schon so einiges an Horroliteratur in der Hand gehabt und gelesen, und ja, dieses Buch hat mir tatsächlich eine Gänsehaut verpasst. Das passiert nicht oft, aber Shirley Jackson war eine Meisterin! Passend zur Jahreszeit, ist das hier ein Klassiker der Schauerliteratur, der ein Haunted House verdammt gut beschreibt.

    The mother of haunted houses

    This story is hauntingly beautiful and terribly terrifying. Hill House, for me, is the mother of haunted houses. Before going into it, though, you should be aware that it's entirely different from the Netflix series and not comparable.

    What an unforgettable read

    I cannot explain it very well but The Haunting Of Hill House is indeed more an experience than a reading. All I can say is…. You could literally feel the haunting. Even though I wasn't afraid reading it, I'll tell you… You could feel the fear of the characters within the pages.
