Not Trickery or Seduction… But Still a Hot Mess

I went into Gilded Wings knowing exactly what I signed up for. I’ve read The Cursed Gods series (Trickery, Seduction, etc.), and I loved the chaotic, over-the-top energy of those books. So, I expected a wild ride—and that’s exactly what I got. But here’s the thing… while the vibes were fun, the execution felt off for me. First of all, is this a slow burn? Absolutely not. This book said “Let’s have an orgy before we even hit the 25% mark in form of a fertilization ritual”—and honestly, lol- why? What I truly enjoyed about Trickery and Seduction is that it made total sense for all the chaos created and i adored it. And then there’s the quirky heroine. Normally, I’m all for a fun, slightly unhinged main character (hi, I loved The Cursed Gods), but something about her grated on my nerves this time around. Maybe it was my mood, maybe it was the way her personality was written—but instead of charming, she just felt too much. To me it feels like she just copied the other books character from the way she talks/ thinks/ acts- and let’s face it- I was not a 100% here for it! That said, it was very entertaining. The fantasy elements were funnily chaotic, the romance was all over the place with hints of a reverse harem or at least the brother also being very interested, and if you like your books spicy with a side of WTF- why are you so wierd- then this book is the right book for you
