Gegenstand des Bandes sind die Logistikpraktiken vor und während der kursächsischen und (kur)hannoverschen Feldzüge im ›Großen Türkenkrieg‹. In drei Hauptkapiteln liefert Martin Schröder zunächst einen ereignis- und verwaltungsgeschichtlichen Überblick, um dann die Vorbereitung und die Durchführung der Feldzüge zu analysieren. Beide Aspekte werden jeweils im Hinblick auf die Marschrouten, die Finanzen und den Proviant untersucht, um die spezifischen Praktiken der Akteure während dieser Feldzugsphasen in Bezug auf diese drei Handlungsfelder herauszuarbeiten. Der Fokus reicht hierbei von den Fürsten über die Militäradministrationen bis hin zu den Soldaten und dem militärischen Logistikpersonal. Auf diesem Weg entsteht ein umfassendes Bild militärischer Mobilität im frühneuzeitlichen Europa.
The subject of the investigation are the logistics practices before and during the Electoral Saxon and Hanoverian campaigns in the ‘Great Turkish War’. In three main chapters, the author first provides an overview of the events and administrative history and then analyzes the preparation and implementation of the campaigns. Both aspects are examined with regard to the routes, finances and supplies in order to highlight the specific practices of the actors at these three fields of action. The focus of investigation ranges from the princes to the military administrations to the soldiers and military logistics personnel. This creates a comprehensive picture of military mobility in early modern Europe.
