Camino Ghosts A Novel

A question of who was first and who is going to win. I am pleased that John Grisham is continuing the Camino Island series. I expected a legal crime in the usual Grisham style but wasn’t sure how the author was going to accomplish that. Especially after the two previous parts were such a success, a standard legal case wouldn’t cover it. As soon as Dark Isle appears on the horizon, the enslaved people and the so-called curse, the story takes up a different turn. The approach to telling the story from more than one perspective keeps the plot alive. The journey back in history is a nice add-in. Most characters are already known, and introducing new ones brings a fresh breeze, I liked Lovely Jackson very much. Reading about her life filled me with anger and hope at the same time. Who would have thought that a legal case would work with witchcraft? John Grisham certainly did. A worthy sequel, twisty and fun to read.
