Not in Love From the bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis

Ich habe nicht gedacht, das ich ein Buch der romance Richtung so verschlingen würde. Mir gefallen die Charaktere sehr. Ich liebe es dass es zwei Sichten der Geschichte gibt und damit auch mehr Spannung reingebracht wurde. Mir hat es wirklich sehr sehr gut gefallen. Ich kann es nur empfehlen.

This was your typical romance novel - exactly what you’d expect from the genre - but sometimes that’s exactly what you need, and Ali Hazelwood delivers it beautifully. What really makes this book shine is Hazelwood’s incredible talent for creating imperfect, flawed characters who are somehow completely relatable and loveable. Both Rue and Eli come with their own baggage and inadequacies, but watching them step outside their comfort zones and grow throughout the story was genuinely compelling. Their character development felt authentic and earned. Rue stands out as a wonderfully strong female protagonist who doesn’t shy away from her struggles, while Eli embodies everything you want in a book boyfriend - considerate, attentive, and utterly swoon-worthy. Hazelwood has mastered the art of writing male love interests that readers can’t help but fall for. The banter between the characters is top-tier, which is something I’ve come to expect and love from Hazelwood’s previous works. The dialogue crackles with wit and chemistry, making their relationship feel natural and engaging. This was a solid read that kept me entertained from first page to last. I found myself giggling, kicking my feet, sometimes laughing out loud, and definitely blushing throughout. Ali Hazelwood books are my comfort reads because I know I’m guaranteed a good time, and “Not in Love” absolutely delivered on that promise. If you’re looking for a romance that hits all the right notes with well-developed characters and plenty of heart, this one’s worth picking up. I’ll always reach for a new Ali Hazelwood release because she consistently creates that perfect blend of swoon, steam, and genuine emotion that makes for an absolutely delightful reading experience.

This was a bit unusual for Ali Hazelwood, but still very good! Some heavier topics are handled here, so it's less of a RomCom, more like a very emotional workplace romance.

It is getting steamy in here... and we are loving it. This one definietly had a different vibe than her usual stuff but I ate it up nonetheless and I enjoyed every second of it. Rue is content with her life. She has fought hard for her stable and peaceful life. She has a successful career, her small but close friendgroup and works for one of the most promising start-ups in the field of food science. Until a hostile takeover and it's offensively attractive front man threatens to bring it all crumbling down. Eli and his business partners want the company Rue works for and there is no way around it. He gets what he wants, except for Rue. The one woman who has rocked his world sideways and the one woman who is off-limits to him. Torn between loyalty and undeniable attraction, Rue and Eli start a secret affair, dead-set on never letting it go beyond the physical. But the heart is always a risky business.

Leider hat mich dieses Buch weniger überzeugt, als Ali Hazelwoods bisherige Werke. Es war eine nette Liebesgeschichte, jedoch ist der Funke bei mir nicht übergesprungen. Die Charaktere waren wie immer liebenswert und einzigartig. Ich liebe ihre Eigenheiten, doch leider blieben sie für mich ein wenig hölzern. Die Liebesgeschichte zwischen Rue und Eli hat bei mir keinerlei Kribbeln hinterlassen. Und das gehört doch zu einer guten Romance Story einfach dazu. Ich habe nicht so viel gefühlt, wie in ihren anderen Büchern. Positiv hervorzuheben ist die Stärke der Protagonistin. Rue verbiegt sich für nichts und niemanden, ist immer ehrlich und steht für sich und ihre Gefühle ein. Das war wirklich großartig. Auch Ali‘s Schreibstil war wie gewohnt leicht und locker, wenn auch etwas weniger humorvoll als gewohnt. Insgesamt war das ein nettes und süßes Buch, was bei mir aber leider keinen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen hat.
