It's a tale of a turkish man that fell in love with an artist in berlin and after that nothing else in life mattered anymore. He really poured his heart and his soul into this friendship after only seeing a painted portrait of her in an art gallery, because he was so captivated by it. A beautifully written story about two young people, missed hopes and no second chances. Sabahattin Ali definitely wrote himself into the readers heart, leaving a mark wherever his novel made them cry.
