"Christine" is a poignant narrative composed of letters written by a young English violinist, Christine, to her mother while she studies music in Berlin in 1914. The story unfolds through Christine's correspondence, revealing her experiences and emotions as she navigates life in a foreign country on the brink of war. Christine is filled with enthusiasm and determination to succeed under the tutelage of the renowned musician, Kloster. Her letters are imbued with a deep love for her mother, whom she misses dearly, and a passionate commitment to her musical aspirations. As she immerses herself in her studies, Christine encounters cultural differences and the challenges of living in a society that is increasingly hostile towards England. Despite these difficulties, she remains optimistic and focused on her goal of becoming a successful musician. The letters also reflect Christine's observations of German society, her interactions with fellow boarders, and her reflections on the political tensions of the time. Through her candid and heartfelt letters, Christine's character emerges as resilient, introspective, and deeply connected to her mother. The narrative captures the essence of a young woman's journey of self-discovery and the pursuit of her dreams amidst the backdrop of a world on the verge of conflict.
