The Book That Broke the World The Library Trilogy (2)

Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass das Buch eine so dunkle Wendung nehmen würde. (Nichts für schwache Nerven, würde ich persönlich behaupten). Die neuen Charaktere, der Perspektivswechsel und das Spiel der Zeitlinien wurde super gut hervorgehoben und inkludiert. Ich bin fasziniert von der Darstellung der Bibliothek und dem Plot, der in diesem Teil gut vertieft wurde. Ich bin gespannt, was im dritten Teil offenbart wird.

I loved the first book and couldn´t wait to read the second one too! It was such a fast read and the way Mark Lawrence tricked me into believing certain things, only to reveal a how twisted my believes were? Mindblowing. I was so frustrated that he kept the MC´s from each other for so long, but it only added to enhancing the feels of this reading journey. Two "new" characters were added and with that a new perspective. While reading book two , I suddenly understood some workings of the first book and the whole plot with the Library and Time Travelling suddenly made much more sense! And Mark Lawrence also gave the reader a challenging moral question to think about. Is the knowledge that books contain evil or are we humans evil since we act according to that knowledge? Where do we draw the line? The plot was definitely darker and more twisted than expected and I´d wished for a little content warning, because one sub plot had me... complete shocked and left me disgusted. (The reason it isn´t a five star read...) It´s not for the weak, but still an amazing book. And at the end, the cliff hanger almost made me throw the book across my room.
