The Delphi murders investigation was one hell of a rollercoaster and the cars on the tracks might as well have been shaped like question marks. ( from the Delphi murders) The Delphi murders are the focal point of this book, but it is much more. Cases that remain unsolved for such a long time change everyone involved. Especially when there is no closure, the physical strain can be immense. It’s therefore a big relief when a cold case can be solved. Sometimes with the help of bringing a case to the public’s attention. I know Nic Edwards, or rather his voice from True Crime Garage, a podcast he co-hosts. It gets clear right from the start how much he’s occupied with true crime, especially the Delphi murders. His expertise is remarkable, and his search for the next case is relentless. Even if you have listened to his podcast already while reading you get to know him much better. What drives him on, or what keeps him motivated to pursue the most heinous murder cases? The authors mention many topic-related books, these recommendations in themselves are a treasure trove for true crime aficionados. It’s written in a heartfelt manner, I liked the included real police statements and interviews, something I haven’t encountered before. Only the footnotes were a bit aggravating, further into the story I just stopped reading them. The author’s dream became true, he co-wrote a great book, may there be more to come.
