To get her mind off everything, Iris tries out for the lead role in a local play, a queer retelling of Much Ado About Nothing, but comes face-to-face with Stefania, whose real name turns out to be Stevie. Desperate to save face in front of her friends, Stevie asks Iris to play along as her girlfriend. Iris is shocked, but when she realizes the arrangement might provide her with some much-needed romantic content for her book, she agrees. As the two women play the part of a happy couple, lines start to blur, and they're left wondering who will make the real first move....

Beide Charakter sind sehr relatable. Habe selber keine Angststörung, fand es aber schön dass sie bei Stevie aber immer wieder angesprochen wurde und wie stark sie damit umgegangen ist.
Teilweise war ich aber kein Fan der Freunde beider Charaktere, darunter auch unsere Hauptcharakter der anderen Bücher. Ich schätze es war eben eines der Themen im Buch, konstant zu etwas gedrängt zu werden. Im letzten Drittel des Buches fand ich sie dann aber wieder süß.
Die Welt war in diesem Buch wohl am queersten, was heutzutage anstatt aufdringlich, eher hoffnungsvoll wirkt.

Insgesamt war die Geschichte süß für zwischendurch, unterhaltsam und flüssig zu lesen. Doch leider gab es ein paar Aspekte, die mich gestört haben. Die absolut valide Entscheidung von Iris, keine festen Beziehungen zu führen, wird als
ein Problem dargestellt, das es zu lösen gilt. Dass Stevies Generalized Anxiety Disorder eine große Rolle spielt ist toll & so wichtig, aber ihre
Persönlichkeit besteht wirklich ausschließlich aus dieser Diagnose, was ihr meiner Meinung nach nicht gerecht wird. Zu guter letzt noch die Diversität - es gibt einige Nebencharaktere, die trans* und/oder BIPOC sind und prinzipiell freut mich das natürlich! Über die meisten von ihnen erfährt man aber nie mehr als Hautfarbe und Geschlechtsidentität. Für mich leider eine
Enttäuschung, was super schade ist, denn Potenzial war da!
