Adjectives I would describe the novel: Emotional, Cute, Shameless, Informative, Sexy...

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

My first impression after receiving the book was..."wow this is thinner than I thought!" (Since Keira Andrews' novels I've read so far have approximately 300 pages). Therefore, I read the whole book in one day and in my point of view it is amazing. Personally, I like Keira Andrews' writing style. It is very comfortable and fluent to read. Moreover, her descriptions are very visual which I find very helpful to imagine the scenes. (And yes the spicy scenes are not cut of short!) I did not only learn more about the Jewish holiday tradition but also got to know two new main characters: Lucas and Nate. Lucas is an extremely handsome college student whose father past away a few months ago, years after his mother's passing. It seems as if Lucas is not completely open about being gay even though he neither was nor is ashamed of his sexuality. The reason might be because he is a virgin and quite shy about asking someone he is interested in which can be seen after meeting the attractive, however, not talkative brother of Lucas' dorm roommate Nate. Nate who spends most of the time in his room developing photographs seems pretty mysterious. It cannot be denied that Lucas fancies Nate the moment they met and now he will sleep only a few feet apart from Nate for eight magical and more than satisfying nights! Nate makes it clear from the beginning that their deal consists of sex only but why did not just Lucas but also Nate seemed to get jealous the other night in the gay bar/disco...? To be honest every time I read a novel by Keira Andrews I am always impressed with the different settings, background stories, how creative and new perspectives she gets for the sex scenes (I mean WOW...) and how she seems to get really into the cultural or sports (e.g. "Kiss and Cry") background (very impressive). I am sure that if you are into the genre of queer romance this is a fantastic book. From my part I would probably recommend "Eight nights in December" to a little more experienced gay-romance-reader since there are really juicy scenes. Nevertheless, the reader can obviously be a beginner to this genre as well because of how well the author let us know and emphasize with the protagonists. "Eight nights in December" is one of my new favorite novels and I am very grateful to Keira Andrews for writing so many amazing gay romances.
