Guardian: Zhen Hun (Novel) Vol. 1

I loved it so much, but unfortunately this series is completed in three books. I wish there was more. The narrative is of high quality, with well-developed characters. You should know that there are no detailed sexual scenes. The topic is only touched on. But you experience the profound love between the two main characters. The early books from Priest are not that good. He really improved a lot in this series. Since English is my first language, I can tell you that the translation is pretty good. There is no need to be concerned about reading this if you are a German speaker. There may be some unfamiliar words, but you will still comprehend the text if you are proficient in standard English. There are some words in the book that have their meanings explained. PS: There is a C-drama called Guardian that is not available in Germany (what a shame), but iykyk.

Quick disclaimer: I am writing this review based off my goldfish memory as I read this book like half a year ago. So. This was nice. Very nice by svt actually. The cases and the supernatural aspect are both insanely cool and quite easy to follow. Which is also thanks to the — in my opinion — great translation as someone who’s not a native English speaker. (I gotta mention that cuz I saw people bashing the translation when this was first released on other websites like umm?? Sit down by nct 127.) ANYWAY I fear Priest ate with this one. DEVOURED that plate. I like that in a book muahaha weilan can run me over any day thank you byee

Giving it a five star for I like stories of supernatural genre and I like the characters such as Zhao Yunlan although he is quite similar to the cheeky, charming and capable Gu Yun from Sha Po Lang and he is always there to save the day. The illustrations are beautiful as well. I sense a heavy romance theme but I am not sure yet since it‘s just volume 1.

This is an awesome supernatural crime story with extremely likeable main characters. It’s very plot focused, which I loved, but the main characters have great chemistry too. I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did, the plot was so thrilling I could barely put it down. There are lots of secrets still to be uncovered, so I‘m very excited for the next book in the series.

A very pleasant surprise! I went into this book without really knowing what it is about and it was a blast! Paranormal investigations, really cool characters and lots of desperate pining. We get many hints about the main characters past and I´m really looking forward to unravelling all the mysteries around Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei. Didn´t think I was gonna love it as much as I did but well you won´t hear me complain. This book was a little eerie and suspenseful but at the same time had many aww situations and moments that made me laugh out loud. I really enjoyed it!
