Daniel was a teenage boy in Jerusalem when armies of the Babylonian Empire invaded Judah and took many residents in captivity to Babylonia. He remained there during the seventy-year period of captivity proclaimed by and enforced by God. He remained in the Persian Empire after the Persian Empire captured Babylonia. The Bible book of Daniel provides some of the most detailed information about the future of the world. God proclaimed events that would happen. Leaders of the day received dreams and visions from God. Only Daniel was given the interpretation of those dreams and visions. Daniel served in high level government positions under King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, and King Cyrus of Persia. That produced the opportunity for Daniel to introduce leaders to the ways of God. (Called 'Yahweh' in the novel.) The dreams and visions from God to leaders, and to Daniel, project events in time from the Babylonian captivity to the coming of Jesus and the church. Historical events have occurred just as the visions from God proclaimed, yet a casual reading of the book of Daniel may leave the reader confused. No part of the novel conflicts with any of the Bible, yet the novel discusses prophecies from God that are not clear in the symbolic writing. (Thus the title PROPHET with Daniel as the prophet.) That is the primary reason this novel has been written.
